Recent development in nanoscale fabrication technology allows one to probe spin transport in microscopic world.
This talk aims to provide a pedagogical introduction to the spin transport in nanostructures.
Starting from rather familiar spin-polarized transport in ferromagnet,
the discussion will proceed to less familiar examples such as spin current decoupled from charge current.
Of particular interest is the spin-orbit coupling effects on spin transport.
A brief introduction to spin Hall effect will be given and its implications to spin torque in nanoscale magnetic systems
will be discussed.
