As life, the process of mastering a craft, becoming an artisan, can be described in stages. The first, inspiration – the muse, the idea and the ideal– can come from imitation or from our academic surroundings and environment. Then, discipline ­– the drive to learn, to master, and to create. Finally, inspiration and discipline leads to our emancipation. Of course there is no set paths to emancipation, or even to inspiration, but as a musician, I will try to explain how I set to reach the same goals- from musical notes to individual expression. As we are all artisans, we share a common base. We need to understand and study the past to find the new future, to find our own emancipation.
