The 2026 Nobel Prize in Physics recognizes a monumental shift in how we observe the universe, awarded to Francis Halzen for his visionary leadership in constructing the IceCube Neutrino Observatory and pioneering the field of ultra-high-energy neutrino astronomy. In this colloquium, I will introduce the IceCube experiment and its contribution to particle and astroparticle physics. Then cover a next-generation neutrino experiment and discuss future prospects.
