Galaxy clusters are the most massive gravitationally bound systems in the universe, and they are important probes for studying galaxy formation and cosmology. In this talk, I will discuss how dense spectroscopy and cosmological hydrodynamic simulations can be used to study the evolution of clusters and their galaxies. Using data from extensive spectroscopic surveys of local clusters and the IllustrisTNG simulations, we explore the properties of cluster galaxies. In particular, we investigate the coevolution of the brightest cluster galaxies and their host clusters. We also test the novel technique of spectroscopic weak lensing tomography, which can be used as an independent cosmological probe with extremely dense spectroscopy. Through these methods, a deeper understanding of the universe of galaxy clusters and the evolution of galaxies within them will be available.
