A duality is an equivalence between two or more seemingly different quantum systems. Duality has been proved powerful to understand strong dynamics in modern physics. In this talk, I will first review some simple but important applications of dualities in various dimensions and introduce new concepts that follows from their underlying physics. I will then give a brief review of some recent developments associated to dualities in quantum field theories and also in string theory.
