Dark matter has been one of the greatest mysteries in particle physics and astronomy. After many experimental searches and theoretical suggestions for dark matter through many decades since its first evidence from orbital velocity anomaly, we still do not have any conclusive evidence of it. On the other hand, there were several 'anomalies' in high-energy astrophysics experiments such as PAMELA, ATIC, etc.Recently, there appeared a new suggestion for 'A theory of dark matter' (PRD 79, 015004 (2009)) with which it is claimed that the experimental anomalies and existing claims for dark matter can be accommodated in a coherent theoretical framework based on a new type of force, the 'Dark Force'. This paper triggered a plethora of related theoretical studies and experimental searches as well as discussions on new experiments optimized for the search of the dark force.
In this colloquium, I will talk about the possibilities of searching
for new phenomena related to the dark force using the high liuminosity e+e- collider. In particular, the current results obtained with the Belle and BaBar experiments as well as the future prospects will be discussed.
