Extremely weak emission of UV~Visible light from cells of living organisms is called biophoton whose sources and biological and physical properties are subjects of intensive research. Biophoton related phenomena, and their biological significance, and physical characteristics such as coherence, squeezed states will be discussed. Medical applications, in particular with respect to Acupuncture, will be presented as well as recent research results done in the Biomedical Physics lab.
