I review the physics of the heaviest particles in the Standard Model of Elementary Particle Physics --- the top quark, the Z boson, and the W boson --- with particular emphasis on their masses and what they teach us about the mechanism explaining the origin of particles' masses, called the spontaneous breaking of the electroweak gauge symmetry. I then discuss experimental programs which will probe this mechanism.
