Quantum simulators provide promising technology from specialized emulation of exotic quantum phenomena to quantum computation. These quantum devices operate in the regime where quantum mechanics is of particular importance with many-body body behavior and entanglement, and may allow one to explore complex scientic and computational problems. Among several physical architectures having been developed over the last decade, I will introduce a quantum simulator with neutral atoms specially optimized for enabling the design and test of new materials or testing fundamental open questions related to material properties. These quantum simulators cool atoms to nanokelvin temperatures above the absolute zero and control them with laser beams to mimic the behavior of electrons in materials.
